Ginger

About six weeks ago, Mandy, Chad and Daisy Claire brought a puppy by for us to see if we would be interested in adopting. She was 3 months old and a mix of rat terrier and mini-Australian shepherd. This puppy was a 1/2 sister to Delilah and to Satch. Of course, we thought she was so cute...what puppy isn't? We decided she would be an inside dog because we could not bear to lose another one as a result of being run over on the highway and there is no good way to fence in the yard for one. We chose "Ginger" as her name. We have delighted in watching her learn things. She had never been on the ground, did not know she could jump and had to learn that she could go up the stairs with me. Now she takes her tennis ball up the steps and drops it to watch it roll to the bottom so she can then run down and retrieve it. House-breaking has been a challenge since we have not had an inside dog in almost 30 years but she is doing quite well. I think she will give us lots of companionship as she matures and as we teach her to obey a few commands so she is not a pest to other people.

  1. Good for you Ann. We had a large Australian Shepherd (80 #) and he was so gentle, he wouldn't bite his food hard. Please send your snail mail address. I gathering something to send you. Have a good week, Cindy
